Dean Madonia: Audio/Video

*Live* The Light Of Reason

Words And Music Dean Madonia
This was the BIG show at the Hard Rock in Miami - Friday, April 16th 1999. Val Lupescu had just taken over guitar duties from Jimmy Ruccolo, but the band was well-rehearsed, and we had played a lot of shows in South Florida. We brought two busloads of drunk people from Fort Lauderdale to irritate the locals and the Miami touristas. My attorney Andy Peretz arranged a 3 camera video shoot from
Nightline Productions, and I had come in early and set up some ADATs for 24 track recording. I promoted the heck out of this show and we got a lot of press. The only thing I forgot to do was practice the songs and warm up!

The Dean Madonia Band was:

Dean Madonia - Vocals, guitar

Val (Evans) Lupescu -guitar

Cory Mauro - bass

Mike Waxman - keyboards

Scott Tryon - drums

The Light Of Reason c 2005 Dean Madonia

Waiting and watching for signs
I found myself living between the lines
Confused by caprice that I saw
And interpretations of the law

Once on the other side of the door
I knew I would not be afraid anymore
At first I fell
Then I began to soar

Moving away from the fold
I found my way out in the icy cold
A light in the land of the lost
I warmed myself moving against the frost

I kept a fire burning inside
Kicking through the ashes of those who had died
Chilled by the truth, frozen by those who lied

Sinking in an ocean
Beneath the ice and snow
I struggled against the darkness
That was waiting down below

By the light of reason

Once on the other side of the door
I knew I would not be afraid anymore
At first I fell
Then I began to soar

Sinking in an ocean
Beneath the ice and snow
I struggled against the darkness
That was waiting down below

By the light of reason
Much brighter than the sun
I'll keep these shadows dancing
Until this day
Until this day is done

I'm always searching for peace
But I'm happy to settle for some release
I'm happy to settle for some release
I'm happy to settle for some release
